As soon as you arrive at the airport, our staff will be there to greet you and assist you with obtaining your visa and collecting your luggage. Embark on an unforgettable tour of Egypt starting with a drive to Giza on the outskirts of Cairo. Here, you'll visit the Sphinx and the three great pyramids of Egypt, accompanied by one of our expert local Egyptologist guides. They will be a wealth of knowledge, full of enthusiasm about Egyptian history and their country in general. The Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops) is an awe-inspiring man-made structure, standing at 500 feet high and 750 feet wide at its base. Constructed of giant stone blocks with a hard limestone casing, the casing has been stripped away over the years to reveal the inner block structure. Together with the smaller pyramids of Khafre (Chephern) and Menkaure (Mycerinus), the sight of these enormous structures rising out of the desert is truly breathtaking. You'll even have the opportunity to climb down inside the pyramids if you wish, although your guide cannot accompany you (a limited number of tickets are available for the Great Pyramid). After the Pyramids. Our next stop is the Saqqara Necropolis, where we'll explore incredible ancient structures and delve into the life of ancient Egypt. Djoser's step pyramid, the world's first stone structure, reveals architectural brilliance. The Teti Pyramid from the sixth dynasty impresses with its exterior and intricate interior, offering insight into ancient funerary practices. The Tombs of the Nobles, built for King Teti's daughters' husbands, vividly depict daily life through paintings and inscriptions. After lunch, we'll visit Memphis, the pharaohs' capital for a millennium. The open-air museum houses the remarkable alabaster sphinx, the second-largest of its kind, and the colossal shattered statue of Ramses II, showcasing their mastery and grandeur. Board a plane bound for Luxor, where our local representatives will warmly welcome you upon arrival. From there, you will be transferred to the Nile Cruise, your floating sanctuary for the upcoming adventures. This morning, there is an (optional excursion) seize the opportunity to take a spectacular sunrise hot air balloon flight over the West bank of the Nile. After breakfast, we'll embark on our tour of Luxor west bank today, Here, we'll explore the Valley of the Kings where the dusty tombs in this ancient burial site are still revealing their secrets today, making it one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. Our tour includes several of these Pharaonic tombs, as well as the temple of Queen Hatshepsut, Deir El-Medina (the Valley of the Artisans), and the huge Colossi of Memnon. In the afternoon, we'll set sail up the Nile, passing through the lock at Esna and continuing on to Edfu, where we'll spend the night. After breakfast, we'll visit the nearby Edfu Temple, dedicated to the god Horus. We'll then continue upriver towards Kom Ombo, taking in the traditional rural Egyptian life that passes us by on the banks of the Nile. You may want to relax and enjoy a soak in the plunge pool on the boat's sun deck. At Kom Ombo, we'll tour the temple, which sits scenically by the banks of the Nile and is home to mummified crocodiles, among other things! Our cruise will then continue onwards to Aswan. Conclude the day with a visit to the grand High Dam, a rock-fill dam on the Egypt-Sudan border, forming the impressive Lake Nasser. Choose between a longer route with a 700-step staircase or a camel ride to the foot of the staircase, leading to the summit for a breathtaking sunrise. After descending, proceed to St. Catherine's Monastery, immersing yourself in its awe-inspiring ancient architecture and artifacts.
